DJ Wowo, a professional disc jockey originally hailing from Nzema but now residing in the city to explore broader opportunities for his DJ talent, has voiced his disappointment regarding Nzema DJs. He expressed his frustration over their lack of support for the latest track "NZEMA" by 4mula Energy, often referred to as the Nzema Shatta Wale.

In an audio message shared on a DJ WhatsApp group, DJ Wowo criticized Nzema DJs for what he perceives as their failure to promote Nzema songs. He believes that 4mula Energy's new song "NZEMA" carries an important message that should reach a wider audience, but this can't happen without the support of Nzema DJs.

Furthermore, DJ Wowo pointed out the inconsistency of Nzema DJs in promoting Nzema music. He noted that while they readily promote artists and songs from outside the region, they seem to allocate only a specific day for Nzema music, which he finds unreasonable and counterproductive. DJ Wowo argued that Nzema artists deserve the same airplay and recognition as mainstream artists.

He illustrated his point with an example: when a prominent artist like Shatta Wale acquires a new item, Nzema radio presenters and bloggers extensively cover it, ensuring it reaches the masses. However, when 4mula Energy, an artist advocating for the youth and their rights, releases a track with a powerful message, Nzema DJs and presenters are notably silent, neglecting to promote it.

DJ Wowo expressed his sadness and frustration, going as far as criticizing his fellow Nzema DJs and labeling their behavior as unwise. He also shared an inspiring story about Hon. Bawa, a former Nzema radio presenter who relocated to Accra but continued to support Nzema music even outside the region, displaying unwavering dedication and passion.

In closing, DJ Wowo urged all Nzema DJs to take it upon themselves to actively promote their local talent, be proud of their artists and their work, and help the music and culture of Nzema reach a wider audience.
